The object pictured above is virtual and only exists thanks to playful manipulation.
We poured oil and vinegar into a dish and photographed the surface at 10 minute intervals for 24 hours. The salad dressing, initially made up of zillions of light and dark droplets, morphed into one light and one dark area. Our idea was to interpret the 144 photos as cross-sections of a virtual figure.
By means of CAD we created the "Salad Days" sculpture.
Time is transformed into space.
This experiment complements the journey through "Schlaraffenland" in spot 02.
For this movie we used thin slices of lemon or red cabbage for example, which were then scanned in to produce a short movie.
